It was watching David Bowie on 'Top of the Pops' in the 1970s that @SamMcKnight1 was first “astounded” by hair. It inspired him to get a weekend job in a salon in his hometown in Scotland, before coming to London where he discovered the world of Vogue and magazine photoshoots. It was on set for in 1990, that he met one of his most famous clients – – who he worked with for many years. In his British Vogue x @YouTube class, @HairBySamMcKnight recalls how he cut Diana’s hair short, reveals his favourite Vogue covers of all time, and the things in his kit bag no good hair stylist should be without. “I think it’s really important to learn a skill,” says McKnight. For me, learning that skill at a very early age from a very humble beginning has brought me to places I never imagine I’d be. The only thing that brought me here was my work.” Watch the full video at the link in bio.
