During the second Peroni Racing Weekend of 2021 at Monza Circuit I recorded the 2021 Sports Car Challenge, an Austrian racing series reserved to both closed and open-cockpit Sport Prototypes with both endurance and sprint races format. I've already recorded this championship many years ago and I've been quite fascinated by some of these machines, especially the open-cockpit ones. Those are called PRC, which stands for 'Pedrazza Racing Cars', and they can be powered by a multiple choice of engines: from the mighty BMW 4.0-litre V8 to an Audi 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-4 or a 3.5-litre Cosworth DFR F1 V8, optimized by Heini Mader. Other more common prototypes during Monza's round were a Ligier JS P3 and a Norma M30 LMP3, plus a little K20-powered Ligier JS51. Last but not least there was also a 2018 Ginetta G58, an evolution of the Ginetta-Juno P3-15 LMP3 car not solely envisioned as a racecar but also as a track-day car for enthusiasts and amateurs. It is powered by a in house developed V8 engine, probably derived from the 6.2-litre Chevrolet LS3 used in their previous G57. Enjoy them in action during the very packed Friday's free practice sessions during which SCC was on track both together the Master Tricolore Prototipi (an Italian sports prototype championship) and the German P9 Challenge.
