The second annual AHIMA Pitch Competition, held during the AHIMA20 Virtual Conference in October, was a joint effort between Chicago-based health technology incubator MATTER (https://matter.health) and AHIMA. The contest was open to university researchers, students, entrepreneurs, and existing startups of all stages with ideas to advance healthcare using health data and information. We called for submissions ranging anywhere from a napkin sketch to on-market products to answer the question: How might we use health and human data to identify social determinants of health to improve patient outcomes and healthcare systems?
