ASA's video: Tim Shuttleworth wins England Programmes Swimmer of the Year ASA Aquatics Awards 2016

Tim Shuttleworth picked up the England Programmes Swimming Athlete of the Year at the ASA Aquatics Awards 2016. Having missed world class inclusion in the 2015/2016 season, Tim has worked exceptionally hard this last year. In 2016 Tim was picked for the England Programme International Meet, Italy, in May for his favoured 1500m freestyle event as well as the 400m freestyle. In between this time, the Olympic trials came along and Tim took the title in the 1500m final to secure his nomination for Rio with a 20 second personal best time. Needless to say Tim had to withdraw from Italy to concentrate on his Olympic preparations. His title-winning swim also secured Tim a call up for the LEN European Aquatics Championships in London where he secured a place in the men’s 800m freestyle final.
