Weird, wonderful, strange, confusing this is a film about the complete shock foreigners go through when they arrive in the UK, a film about all the little things you do differently to us and how we learn and try to cope with them. Inspired by my personal experiences, this film is a reflection of the weird things that happened to me and the awkward situations that followed… Hi, my name is Emilia. I’m originally from Bulgaria but I moved to Manchester in 2012 to follow my dream of becoming a journalist. My films aim to show things in a different light and provoke reactions. I studied journalism but journalism is also for me a way of life. The films I make truly represent who I am - a young storyteller who has a sense of justice and a passion, I’m a truth-seeker interested in people. Hopefully many foreigners will relate to this film because we were all there at the beginning… I will be glad to read your comments, advice and feedback.
