BIG ROG's video: HORTON PLAZA COMING TO AN END DEAD MALL - SAN DIEGO 2019

@HORTON PLAZA COMING TO AN END [DEAD MALL] - SAN DIEGO 2019
On this day (April 2019), I explored a dead mall that is winding down to the end and is now 95% of its stores have closed due to crime and sales plummeting. This location is called Westfield Horton Plaza Mall in the city of Downtown San Diego, California. Horton Plaza is a five-level outdoor shopping mall known for its bright colors, architectural tricks, and unique style. It’s adjacent to the city’s historic Gaslamp Quarter and was the first successful downtown retail center since the rise of suburban shopping centers decades earlier. Individuals could assume a lot of stores like Hot Topic, GNC, Panda Express, Taco Bell, Nordstrom, The Gap, McDonalds, and Game Stop (To name a few), all have abandon this once iconic mall because of the rising crime and low sales for the pass years. The shopping center is declining and will soon be revamped. Since my last visit (April 2018), a few food court stores that were open last year, are now closed. Along with the Movie Theater that has been a staple at the Downtown Mall for decades and the Jessop’s Clock was removed from the mall not long ago. Macy’s is still the current anchor store that is keeping the mall afloat and only time will tell for the renovation to this iconic mall to be completed.
