Cameron Chapman's video: Salmon fishing Scotland 2020 Dochfour 5lb salmon caught on the fly

When couples fish together, they can often benefit from a myriad of magical moments that occur during a day's salmon angling, whilst being subjected to the vagaries of the Scottish weather! Lo and behold, that is exactly how things panned out here, for visiting anglers, Shirley and Steve. The fact that Steve had not held on to a single one of the many salmon that he had made fleeting contact with, during their previous visit and Shirley had landed the only fish on that previous trip, is neither here nor there! Upon arrival this time around, the river had risen substantially, to the point that it was unsafe to venture out onto the Weir. However, as all Ness anglers will be aware, it is one of the few rivers that can rise over two metres in height and still remain crystal clear and fishable. So without further ado, the gentleman that he is, Steve invited Shirley to take the first run through the Netting Water. The rest as they say, is comedy gold, the majority of which was caught on camera. I'm confident that as time moves forward, Shirley and Steve will both enjoy looking back on Shirley's outstanding achievement, with the same degree of humour that they demonstrated on the day.
