Defying Odds Donnelly's video: Beginning My Journey Into Data Science and Overcoming Failure

2010-2019 may not have been my best years. From persistent depression, anxiety, and loneliness to accruing several thousands of dollars of student debt for a nearly useless degree, I now must put all that behind me and not look back. I have learned that health and fitness can be beneficial for many people but for some it can have its limitations. I have high hopes that Data Science and machine learning will help unlock the secrets to helping those who struggle to find their belonging in life have improved odds of seeking happiness. Perhaps one day if not already there will be an algorithm that can help predict which kids are more subjected to being teased and bullied and thus steps can be taken to help better prepare these kids. What if there could be an algorithm to predict how well someone will do in a given social environment. Maybe predictive algorithms will help predict which people are most highly likely to remain single and thus offer proper life coaching, social skills training, and other modes of therapy to help such individuals out. Maybe one day, there will be the algorithm to help those who struggle to find a belonging in life. Health and fitness may prove wonders to many people, but when health and fitness is not enough, machine learning and data science may very well provide that long lost hope.
