Why is the Taranis so great: The Taranis was designed by popular demand of the public saying which was their favourite transmitter and favourite firmware. So it has the JR9x case and gimbals with the STM32 CPU based board and OpenTx firmware with all the mods pre-installed like speech. They have 60 model memory and micro SD card for unlimited models. They have the Companion9x software so you can setup on your computer. They have all 3 position switches and paddles for every type of flyer (slope soaring uses paddles but also great for camera control). They have the built in FrSky telemetry system (built into the X8r receiver) and a module port in the back to add another Tx module like DSM2 or UHF so you then have the FrSky system and UHF system in the same radio that switches when you select the model.
