This Combinator allows you to load in a sample and essentially slice it up on-the-go. While holding any given key, the sample is playing back, but the moment you let go, the sample will essentially "pause" until you press and hold a key again. Press and release C2 to start sample playback, then press and hold C3 to select the original pitch playback as well as unmute the mixer channel. Upon releasing C3 the sample slams down to a very low pitch, which is the best it can do for a "pause" of sorts... releasing C3 also mutes the mixer channel. Pressing C3 will place the pitch back to the proper setting as well as open the mixer channel again. You can select any pitch above C3, and you can select any pitch below C3 but only down to C .
