Pounding rains overflowed creek banks on Sunday and poured over the rural town of Krum, officials said. The flooding followed a string of tornadoes and thunderstorms that toppled trees into buildings and power lines throughout North Texas. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Denton and Cooke counties through Sunday evening. A tornado watch covering more than 70 counties was expected to last into the night. Denton cops urged people to stay off the roads as they worked through the damage. The violent storms killed one person and critically injured another in the ranching and farming community of Cisco. The National Weather Service reported tornado winds of 136 to 165 mph in the rural town about 100 miles west of Fort Worth.
