Filming Nature's Extremes's video: The California King Snake

@The California King Snake
Here is a beautiful wild California King Snake which was caught in my street and released back to the hills behind my backyard. The California King Snake is a non-venomous species that gets it's name for it's ability to consume other snake species...even the highly venomous Rattlesnake. The King Snake has special enzymes which can break down the venom of rattlesnakes, making the California King Snake almost completely immune to their venomous bites! The California King Snake is known for being a very non-aggresive snake. They are the number one snake species kept in captivity for their calm behavior and ability to be tamed. When threatened however, they can shake the tips of their tails around rapidly against brush and other debris to mimmic the look and sound of a Rattlesnake's rattle!
