@India's First Tejas Express Smashes Khed with KYN WDM-3D Twins!!
My exclusive Konkan Railways Special Upload for all my subscribers! The first upload of India's latest sensation, Tejas Express, on my channel. Apologies for the late upload of this video as my laptop had crashed due to some issues!! My first visit to Konkan Railways turned out to be totally fruitful due to this capture and the scenic beauty of the great engineering marvel of India!! The Tejas Express swiftly came into the scene at the railway station with Kalyan's WDM-3D twins racing well above 110 kmph with the attractive and shimmering rake. This was the last day for the train to run at its maximum permissible speed as the monsoon timetable of the train was about to begin from the next day. The monsoon timetable of this train doesnt allow it to go at a speed more than 90 kmph. Konkan Railway (KR) changes the timing of trains running though the Konkan Railway every year from Jun 10 to October 31. This is called the “Monsoon Timetable which was introduced because the monsoons with heavy rains is often followed by flash floods, landslides, tree uprooting etc on the highly volatile and geologically sensitive landscape that is the Konkan Coast. To prevent any untoward incidents, trains are run at reduced speeds on the Konkan track and the timetable of trains is altered to match these speed restrictions. The Konkan Monsoon timetable shlws almost all trains taking 2-3 hours extra to traverse the route as they will be running slowly. Brief Introduction of the Tejas Express :- 22119/22120 Mumbai CST - Karmali Tejas Express Tejas Express is India’s first semi-high speed full AC train fleet introduced by Indian Railways, featuring newer modern on-board facilities. The inaugural run of Tejas Express was on 24 May 2017 from Mumbai CST to Karmali, Goa. It covered 551.7 kms in 8 hours and 30 minutes. The coaches are manufactured at the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. Coaches have bio-vacuum toilets, water level indicators, tap sensors, hand dryers, integrated braille displays, LED TV for each passenger with phone sockets, local cuisine, celebrity chef menu, WiFi, tea and coffee vending machines, magazines, snack tables, CCTV cameras, fire & smoke detection and suppression system. The fares will be 20% to 30% more than Shatabdi fares. There are 14 non-executive chair cars and they can seat up to 72 passengers each (3+2) configuration. The coaches have energy-efficient LED lights and digital destination display boards. The new train has two executive chair cars (in 2+2 configuration). The executive chair cars have a seating capacity of 56 passengers and adjustable head-rests, arm support and leg support. Leg support is not available in non-executive chair cars. The central table in the Tejas Express also has infotainment screens. Equipped with soap dispensers, touch-less water taps, odour-control systems and occupancy indicators, the toilets in Tejas Express have been designed with modern standards in mind. In line with Indian Railways vision to make tracks defecation free, Indian Railways has installed bio-vacuum toilets in Tejas Express.
