Edinburgh’s bustling city center ranks as one of the most handsome in Europe and combines rich cultural heritage with stunning new developments. The elegant Georgian streets are set against the dramatic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle and the medieval turrets and spires of the Old Town. Looming over the city is Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny. Edinburgh is a city of sombre theatricality, with much of this quality deriving from its setting among crags and hills and from its tall buildings and spires of dark stone. Edinburgh has been a military stronghold, the capital of an independent country, and a center of intellectual activity. We really enjoyed Edinburgh as a tourists, this is the heart of Scotland, the perfect visitor destination.
