Joshua Naterman's video: Developing the straight bar Muscle Up: Dip progressions

@Developing the straight bar Muscle Up: Dip progressions
The hardest part of a slow, no kip, no swing, no momentum muscle up on a straight bar is the transition from the pull up to the middle of the dip. Unlike rings, there is a bar in the way that forces the center of gravity to move behind the bar where the grip is. On rings the center of gravity typically moves directly between the points of grip, which are the rings themselves. To do this slowly on a straight bar with a straight body requires FAR MORE grip strength and pressing strength than either a strict bar muscle up performed powerfully(meaning with speed, even if there is no kip or swing) OR a slow rings muscle up. This video explains how to develop that part of the slow, no kip, no swing, no momentum muscle up. To learn about the false grip pull ups and basic Russian Dips, which need to be mastered first, watch my video "Quest for the Muscle Up!"
