In 2000, after the match fixing scandal, Sourav Ganguly was named as the captain of Team India. This decision was taken as Sachin Tendulkar stepped down from the captaincy and Ganguly was the vice captain of the Team, at that time. Sourav Ganguly, being called as Dada, was pivotal behind Team India uplifting their spirits when the whole Cricketing World was shaken by the Match Fixing Scandal.
