Mark Fox Outdoor Adventures's video: Crabbing Dash Point

@Crabbing Dash Point
This is me crabbing at Dash Point Pier in Washington using a crab ring. This is what I prefer to use over the square crab pot. I like to use salmon heads from the fish I caught in prior seasons of fishing. A lot of people use chicken legs and different fish or squid. I switch to these baits if I run out of salmon heads. I usually leave my ring sitting for about 10-15 minutes before I pull it up. This season has been horrible for Dungeness crab due to heavy fishing of them prior to the season opening. All I caught on this trip was Red Rock crab. In the Puget Sound you can keep either sex of Red Rock crab as long as they're a minimum width of 5". You measure them at the widest part of the shell just in front of the rear most point or tips. Dungeness crab need to be male only and 6 1/4".
