Michael Laprarie's video: Louis Armstrong Velma Middleton live 1955 - Baby Its Cold Outside

@Louis Armstrong / Velma Middleton (live 1955) - Baby Its Cold Outside
From a private, never-before-released live performance of the All Stars recorded in Cambridge, OH, March 29, 1955. According to the Louis Armstrong Discography this concert fills a nice hole in the recordings we have of the All-Stars during the spring of 1955. We have a lengthy live recording of the All Stars ("The California Concerts") from January 1955, but -- outside of several TV and radio appearances during the spring and summer of 1955 -- we don't have another live concert recording of the All Stars until October, when the All Stars were recorded in Sweden during their European tour. This recording gives us the opportunity to enjoy an All Stars show performed barely a month before the band headed to New York to begin recording their legendary "Satch Plays Fats" album for Columbia. This is also the same band that recorded Louis's hit record of "Mack The Knife" a few months later. Recording from the private collection of Dr. M. W. McCullough Louis Armstrong -- trumpet, vocal, leader; Trummy Young -- trombone, vocal; Barney Bigard -- clarinet; Billy Kyle -- piano; Arvell Shaw -- bass; Barret Deems -- drums; Velma Middleton - vocal
