Mick McCleery's video: Little Red Riding Hood kids style

THE STORY: Back in the day. When the kids were small I would sometimes get 'fool-hearty' enough to think I could try directing them in a short film. Here is further evidence of that. This was shot in the beginning of November of 2001. So Faith would have been about 2 months shy of five years old and Morgan about 3 and 4 months. Overall, they showed what fine performers they would soon turn into. TECHNICAL STUFF: This was shot with my Sony DSR200 (DVCAM). It was my first DV camera and I really did like what it could do. The image doesn't really compare to today's HD cameras, but it was a hell of a jump from my old S-VHS and 8mm. NEW STUFF: I imported it into an HD timeline to make it look as good as it could for posterity. Also, I left it as 4 by 3 screen ratio and carried on the red title screen as the 'pillars'. Not sure why, just felt it was better than the black bars - I may regret this in time. REFLECTION: As it would be with any Dad looking back at his daughters at this age, it is both heart-warming and a bit sad (to know that those years are long gone). I right away think of all of the other movies I thought about, but failed to make with them. And, of course, those opportunities are gone. To be replaced (of course) by new opportunities. I have also put up the raw footage of this shoot (http://youtu.be/vk-m8b4CCGM), which is even more 'heart stirring' for me. It is just under ten minutes and sweet as hell. I also wonder this. Why has it taken me this long to post? It was made in 2001, I've been on youtube since the Summer of 2006. Alas, I may be just lame. m
