@Shavonne "So Tell Me, Tell Me" ( Vocal Club Mix ) - M-Pire / Sacred Records Archive
Shavonne "So Tell Me, Tell Me" ( Vocal Club Mix ) - M-Pire / Sacred Records Archive Now you can finally put some faces to this song! I'm very pleased to share this video tribute for a very special song that we wrote & produced over 20 years ago. I'll use this opportunity to share everything I remember about this record, how it came together, the people involved, as well as info on M-Pire Records, M-Pire Sound & Sacred Records. This is a work in progress so please check back for updates. The audio here is taken directly from the original master 1/2" tape, that was then transferred to DAT. You can download MP3's of most of the songs we wrote / produced back in the day ( and some major influences ) here: http://bit.ly/bzvYcz Photos here: http://bit.ly/c9tWWx -------- Originally released in 1989 on M-Pire Records, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Manufactured & Distributed by Vista Sounds, Englewood, New Jersey, U.S.A Re-released in 1994 on Sacred Records Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Freestyle Heaven 12" 4 song EP which also included: Leo - Don't Go, Kim Esty - Summer in the Street, Vita - Tonight & Forever Manufactured & Distributed by Hi-Bias Records Toronto, Ontario, Canada -------- Much more to come... stay tuned! Meanwhile, please let me know if you have any questions about this song, I would be more happy to answer them. Who is Shavonne? Shavonne's real name is Rose Iovio and like myself is from Hamilton, Ontario. We met through a mutual friend while we were actively looking for singers in the area for various studio projects. When I first heard her voice, I remember that it had that high pitch, almost babyish tone that I heard over & over again on all the freestyle records I was listening to at the time eg. Cover Girls, Nocera, Pam Russo, Trinere, Debbie Deb, Cynthia, Stevie B etc. I was really anxious to do a freestyle record & this was my first attempt at this style of music which was so dear to my heart. I haven't seen her since the early 90's and I hope to be reunited with her soon, hopefully this video will help. Rose if you're out there, I'm so looking forward to hearing from you. *** UPDATE **** I just heard back from SHAVONNE yesterday !!! ( April 7, 2010 ) Gotta LOVE YouTUbe & the Internet :D Great to FINALLY hear her voice after soooo long... Song Title The original song title for this song was "Tell Me What You See". Jeffery Collins from Vista Sounds suggested that "So Tell Me, Tell Me" would be much better so we went with that.
