Naina Bhattacharjee's video: 13 km trek to 5200ft VAISHNO DEVI MANDIR by Tarakote Marg

So finally we visited Matarani Mandir at Katra city.It was like a trek to the Holy place, very interesting & less tiring.We visited by walking through the new route that is the Tarakote Marg which is way more neat & clean than the old one with all basic facilities provided.But you won't get any palki or horse in this route untill you reach Adhukuwari (half way to Bhawan).You have to walk only, but the route is very easy to walk as it is less steep than the old one. Both the route gets linked at Adhukuwari, from there only one route follows.But since it is less crowded we opted for the old route while returning as it was getting very late. Both the routes are open for pilgrims for 24 hours, so that anyone can visit Matarani according to their suitable time.
