KXIP owner Preity Zinta get hug from Chris Gayle & KL Rahul as KXIP Win their back to back 3 Matches in IPL2020 Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) in a thrilling double Super Over action in the IPL 2020 on Sunday (October 18) at the Dubai International Stadium. For the first time, the world witnessed a double super over in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the first super over, Jaspirt Bumrah bowled excellently as KXIP posted 5/2 from their 6 balls. However, Rohit Sharma and Quinton De Kock failed to win it for MI and only managed to tie the score on 5/1 as the match went into a second super over in Dubai. Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya were given the responsibility to set the score for MI in the 2nd super over. The West Indian allrounder played smartly and helped MI to 11/1 in the 6 balls. On the chase target score of 12 runs, KXIP sent in Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal. Trent Boult got hit for a six off the first ball by Gayle as Agarwal sealed the win in the end with two back-to-back boundaries with two balls let in the end. In chase of a target score of 177 earlier in the day, KXIP got off to a decent start but Jasprit Bumrah struck for MI and dismissed Mayank Agarwal (11) in the third over. Chris Gayle then walked in and formed an economical stand with KL Rahul and prolled KXIP towards the target score. Gayle played a 24-run knock for his side before spinner Rahul Chahar sent the veteran West Indian batsman back to the dressing room. Nicholas Pooran came in next and played a quickfire knock of 24 runs off 12 balls before Bumrah struck again for the Mumbai Indians. Glenn Maxwell's stay at the crease was also short as the misfiring Australian left for a duck. However, KL Rahul kept on going at the other end as he completed his well-deserved half-century. But his fighting knock of 77 runs soon came to an end after Jasprit Bumrah cleaned up his stumps with an excellent length ball. Randeep Hooda (23*) and Chris Jordan (13) in the end played a key knock and helped KXIP tie the score in the end as the match went into a super over.
