Next Management's video: Versace Spring Summer 2019 Womenswear

MILAN — Friday night in the Italian fashion capital has but one meaning, Versace! In the expansive Pavilion 3 of CityLife, Donatella Versace’s women’s Spring / Summer 2019 had a stage worthy of her ambitious vision. Start with a carpet quadrangle that would make most suburban car parks look diminutive, unleash onto it more than 50 looks with a kaleidoscopic vibrancy that is typically the preserve of a rainforest sanctuary, and word is suddenly flesh. At full tilt, the show was positively mesmerizing, none more so than inside the engine room where stylist Jacob K transmitted Donatella’s message to the runway with the speed and thought of a concert violinist and a heavyweight boxer. Pitch perfect, ever blow proved fatal in this knock-out of a runway show. Featuring in the lineup from across the Next global network were a half dozen models including Binx Walton, Hiandra Martinez, Anok Yai, Cara Taylor, Maria Miguel, and Anja Rubik.
