I'm an ex cancer patient, with severe lung and systemic complications as a result of treatment. If I get the flu, I stand to lose years of my life. If I get the measles, I have a good chance of dying. I've lost friends to these. I HATE anti-vaxers. But most people who are vaccine hesitant AREN'T anti-vax! They're concerned parents, who may have seen something about this 'debate,' or some of whom who have antivaxers whispering in their ear, or simply, concerned parents. That's not wrong. That doesn't make them stupid. It makes them worried, and concerned. I know there are nut jobs we can't fix. But anti-vaxers are a small, very vocal minority. They are growing in numbers, yes. But I reckon we shouldn't condascend, but understand. We shouldn't just use numbers and figures and explanations, but personalise it too with anecdotes, and personal stories of why we do vaccinate.
