Economic woes, drought, and extreme weather are reversing years of progress so that 237 million sub-Saharan Africans are chronically undernourished, more than in any other region. In the whole of Africa, 257 million people are experiencing hunger, which is 20% of the population. People suffer daily for basic necessities such as food and clean water. Jobs are scarce, and wages are minimal. Many people live on less than £1 a day. One Nation are providing emergency aid and long-term assistance to families and communities in Africa.
