☕I was just in highschool when I came to my mind this kind of design, I was taking my summer vacation near Quezon province beach front, I stayed on my dad's rest house.. I can still remember my original sketch and concept of the said design.. I started to wonder, what if there's a pod car like travelling on the highways or main roads levitating by the use of magnetic fields (we all know that there are only 2 polarities of the magnet) positive and negative, or north & south. In this manner, we can manage to levitate the pod by repelling 2 magnetic poles. As you can see on my sketch, it is simple, and very conservative, the design itself is not complicated as seen nowadays with so many factors or elements to consider to perfect the design. My concept is different, my original design was based on the streets and not on low pressured tubings. The concept of Elon Musk is the same but I have to say, my design is much simpler compared to his. As much as I want to give you my ideas on how it works in detail, I have to disclose it for security reasons, as you know my design was not able to get a patent by that time. The year is 1987, I am just a kid just playing with my own ideas on how should be the people would travel much faster and safer compared to conventional vehicles. As I showed my concept design to my brother by that time, at first, he laughed at me, he told me that I am weird, but when he finally realized it, he got marvelled on the concept itself, he suggested some functionality of the pod like having a fm/am radio just like a car would have, but the radio has a function of a two-radio for calling an emergency situation. So I decided to add an antenna to the pod and a black box just like an airplane that usually has, in order to record the audio of the passenger and driver in times of malfunction of the vehicle. As you can see, it's a working progress to perfect the design itself, just you know, I am glad and surprised when I saw my original design was put in a good use for the sake of humanity.
