@Doom - Inferno - E3M7: Gate to Limbo (1993) Playthrough w/ [Brutal Doom v20b]
The Doom engine's source code was released to the public in 1997 and in 1998, a port of the game to Windows was made with one of the first iterations being 'ATB Doom'. It however was soon abandoned and later that same year a developer based his port of Doom on this iteration along with NTDoom which he named ZDoom. ZDoom's development fork is one of if not the most popular Doom engine port to Windows with it continuously being updated to this day and has led to other ports based on it such as GZDoom, Skulltag, and the multiplayer Zandronum. It was then in 2010 that Brazilian computer game programmer Marcos Abenante (known more commonly by his alias as Sergeant_Mark_IV) developed a mod for Doom and its sequels to run within GZDoom and Zandronum, Brutal Doom. To quote the ModDB page, "Prepare to see the most disturbing, sadistic and morbid manifestation of violence that you ever seen in your life. This is the definitive gameplay enhancement mod for the GZDoom and Zandronum engines. Warning: After you see it, it cannot be unseen!" Brutal Doom quickly became a hit and won the Cacoward for best gameplay mod in 2011 and went on to win ModDB's "Mod of the Year 2012" and "MOTY Editors Choice 2012" awards. In this video, I go through the seventh map of Doom's third episode Inferno. The map is E3M7: Gate to Limbo. I also have the addon "Doom Metal Soundtrack Mod - Volume 4" installed for music with real instruments instead of the original MIDIs. All of the music is in the public domain and was created by members of the Doom community. GZDoom's official download page: http://gzdoom.drdteam.org/page.php?page=download Brutal Doom's ModDB page: http://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom Doom Metal Soundtrack Mod - Volume 4 download page: http://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom/downloads/doom-metal-soundtrack-mod-volume-4 You will need one of the Doom IWADs to play Brutal Doom. These will come from your original Doom installation. In this case, mine came from Steam.
