If you cannot define the Gospel, then why should anyone think you are a Christian? John MacArthur, a very popular preacher, said that the Gospel is a call to obedience. He's wrong. While George Whitefild and Martin Luther would have been horrified at MacArthur's misrepresentation of the Gospel, today's Roman Catholics (like Robert Sungenis) are elated--for they know that MacArthur has the Roman Catholic view of the Gospel (the Gospel is a preaching of Repentance). David J. Engelsma claims the Gospel is a call to join an institutional church, obey its elders, pay your tithes, and never leave. He's dead wrong. While John Calvin and Zacharias Ursinus would have been outraged at such a papist claim, popes and cardinals smile with greedy approval. Cornelius Van Til taught that all the teachings in the Bible, including the Gospel, are irreconcilably paradoxical and mysterious--impossible to harmonize and you shouldn't even try. He was wrong as the day is long. His views helped to ruin what was left of modern Presbyterianism. While Huldrich Zwingli and Louis Guassen would have blew their tops at such a satanic claim, the Roman Catholic Church bids those that believe that Van Tilian-irrational-mystic-nonsense to come back home to Rome!--and many have (My brother and I have witnessed more than a few Van Tilians leave Presbyterian churches for Rome--there's even a Roman Catholic online ministry to help students of Westminster Seminary to enter the Roman Catholic Church--it's run by former Van Tilians and graduates of Westminster Seminary--you cannot make this stuff up--but what did you expect when most of the faculty at that seminary went to Catholic schools?). If you look around this filthy nation of ours, you will see sodomites running naked in the streets, illegals demanding tax-payer hand-outs, college kids demanding communism, open socialists running for president, abortion clinics galore--and you might wonder how that's possible if there's a mega-church on every corner--well, maybe it's because they're preaching a mega-heresy in those giant buildings! If you've read this far, I guess this post wasn't banned, so maybe you might have a chance to buy a book by a guy who was once described by a University professor as "That guy who ACTUALLY believes in Calvinism--I know there's some that claim to be Calvinists--we've all read about them--but this guy ACTUALLY believes in Calvinism!" What can I say: guilty as charged! Let the Reformation begin!
