A prostitute, on her menstrual periods, finds refuge inside a temple, and there she meets the GOD. What will follow sums up the story of the short film. Hitham, in Malayalam means desire, is an experimental Malayalam short film which merges the elements of drama with cinematic execution. Hitham is a serious take on the sanity of menstruation, infidelity, caste system, gender identity of GOD, etc. in a direction pattern familiar to those who have seen earlier works of Vishnulal, who with Hitham, made sure that the film resound well with all who went through menstrual pain at least once. Director Statement: Regarding Hitham, I had serious doubts on the acceptance part, but I am glad that I have received tremendous positive reviews, mostly from women which sounded incredible considering the concept. I haven’t had received these many good feedback on any of my previous work were concept, direction, acting are all equally appreciated as the best I have done so far.
