The cappuccino espiguero (Sporophila nigricollis) is a species of bird in the tanager family, previously classified as buntings, found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominica, Ecuador, Granada, Guyana, Martinique, Montserrat, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. It measures 11 cm in length. The male has a black head, to the neck and upper chest, the female has the upper parts and head brown and yellow underparts. It is granívoro. It reaches sexual maturity at ten months old.
