White 's father was in prison when White was born and his mother was left to raise him as a single parent.[1] White grew up in Canton though he moved to Columbus, Ohio several times.[2] White's interest in music began when his mother played Ashanti, Beyoncé, Tupac and Nas when White was growing up and it led to him later listening to artists such as T-Pain, KISS, Gucci Mane, Marilyn Manson and Lil Wayne.[2][1] White began rapping after being inspired by his older brother, another rapper who went by the name Dirty Redd.[2] His brother later died in a car crash.[3] The death made White begin taking his music career seriously and he began recording music, releasing “Sub-Zero” and “New Ferrari” in 2014, soon deleting those songs.[1] White attended high school in his native hometown of Canton, Ohio where, despite the dangerous environment he was raised in[4], he achieved a 4.0 GPA.[5] White described himself during high school as a "loner"[2] who was "always popular".[3] White was also an affiliate of the Bloods street gang.[6] Following his graduation, White moved to Atlanta, Georgia meeting rapper Lil Wop and eventually being offered a deal with a record label.[7] Career[edit] White released his first songs Sub-Zero and New Ferrari in 2014 following his brothers death, though he later removed them.[1] After moving from Canton, Ohio to Atlanta, Georgia, White met Lil Wop, who helped him get started with a professional recording studio.[7] Working with Lil Wop and Kodie Shane, White recorded three projects, Awakening My Inner Beast, Beast Mode and Rock the World Trippie.[1] White eventually signed to the label Strainge Entertainment[8] and relocated to Los Angeles.[3] In May 2017, White released A Love Letter to You, his debut mixtape.[9] The lead single from the mixtape, "Love Scars/You Hurt Me" has more than 8 million views on YouTube[10] and more than 13 million on soundcloud.[11] White was included on XXXTentacion's 17 album on the top 40 single, "Fuck Love".[12] Who is 21 Savage?
