Everyone was playing Aroma. Out of the 13 duels I played today, 8 of them were Aroma. Kill me. This deck's goal isn't to get out one definitive boss monster and win with it. Its goal is to freely interchange what its boss monster is according to the opponent's deck and the current game state. As a result, this deck requires setting up multiple turns beforehand and reacting to what your opponent does. An example of this would be using Plaguespreader to top The Seventh One if you anticipate that your opponent is going to go in next turn. In exchange for this mix between adaptability and power, it suffers from the most glaring weakness common in all Zombie decks - a horrible first turn. Zombie World is good all around, as it stops Bujins and Qli cold in their tracks. It's not as good as it once was because of Super Poly being banned, because before, you could Poly your opponent's monsters into Dragonecro, functioning as three things - a discard outlet for Mezuki, a Treacherous Trap Hole, and an instant big beater. I haven't actually gotten off Charon's effect yet. It's there just in case, as the deck functions off of utility more than power. ______________________________­­­­________________ My thoughts on the banlist: With Skill Drain and Vanity going to 1, you can expect to see an influx of OTK decks. Personally, I prefer an OTK format to a lockdown format. Rulers getting banned was somewhat stupid, as they functioned as some of the best out-of-archetype support for many decks. Hitting that support is basically like saying "Don't play off-themed cards! Use our super broken archetypes to win!" I mean, I could understand that it was to keep Dark Matter in check, and they didn't want to hit Dark Matter a week before its release, but Sixth Sense was hit before its release as well, so... I don't know, it seems really dumb. I'm not at all surprised that Snatch Steal got banned again. There's a plethora of reasons for it getting banned and I don't want to get too into detail because descriptions are on a character limit. Tour Guide getting hit was a setback to BA, another deck which I don't like. As much as I hate BA, this is another example of "Don't use off-themed support!" Konami is really trying to make this game all about archetypes, which I really do hate, as it's limiting creativity. Ravine going to 1 was a result of the Rulers getting shot again. I can see Dragunity players rejoicing, saying "IT'S BETTER THAN NOTHING!" Hopefully next format it'll come up higher on the banlist. I don't particularly care too much about the other cards. Bestiari going to 3 is cool, but I highly doubt that it matters.
