''The End Is The Beginning Is The End'' is a song performed by The Smashing Pumpkins, included on the soundtrack of the 1997 superhero movie, ''Batman & Robin''. The track was released as a single in April of 1997. A music video was also released, directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris; it depicted the band performing inside a giant Batman mask and scenes from the movie shown on the walls. The video is one of the two SP's music videos to not feature Jimmy Chamberlin as the drummer (the ''Perfect'' video being the other one). It received four nominations at the 1997 MTV VMA's. The song charted on Billboard's Hot 100 Airplay at , on Mainstream Rock Tracks at and on Modern Rock Tracks at . It charted well across the world; on Norway, on New Zealand and on Finland. It also won a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Peformance at the 1998 ceremony. For the single's release, the song was remixed by Fluke, Rabbit In The Moon and Hallucination. It also included new tracks like ''The Guns Of Love Disastrous'', which is an instrumental version of the song based on the electronica elements of it, ''The Ethers Tragic'' another instrumental but focussed on the guitars.
