The instructor at the A P Police Academy, Thota Chakravarthi (Venkat) has a task on hand. Candidates picked for the Next Generation Force (NGF) have to be trained in every respect to make the youth a force to reckon with to bring about change. He knows the mind of the chief minister and therefore gets onto the job of moulding the candidates. However, the rigorous training is not something some of the candidates had bargained for. Five of them get booted out after getting enough chances to continue there. And it is these five that the ex-chief minister, played by Nagineedu, forces to be part of his plan to eliminate the chief minister. Venkat plays his role to perfection with his toned body as the instructor and gets into the skin of his character. You cannot but be reminded of Nana Patekar in his role as Major Pratap Chavhan in the 1991 film ‘Prahaar’ when you watch Venkat in his role as the instructor. Asmita Sood, as another senior police official in the academy has a minor role but significant for the story. And yes, she does impress in a fight sequence. While the chief minister’s character and nature is elevated, what one does not miss is that because of his adamant nature two lives are lost. Asmita Sood is killed by those in cohorts with the ex-CM. A candidate who was sent away from the academy and who comes to the rescue of Chief Minister Raghuram is also killed. And this is because the CM brushes aside security concerns. The film’s director does not dwell on this aspect because all his concentration is to show that the five candidates sent away from the academy become beneficial for the society.
