lO Davis's video: Haunted History of Lakewood House Livingston Alabama United States

@Haunted History of ~ Lakewood House , Livingston, Alabama, United States.
https://www.facebook.com/pg/historyhaunted/posts/ The area now known as Livingston was part of the traditional territory of the nation of Choctaw Indians until the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek in 1830. Livingston has a number of historic sites and properties. Lakewood is a historic antebellum mansion,Julia Tutwiler may have made her permanent abode in the Lakewood House. This two-and-a-half-story Greek Revival–style house was completed in 1840 by Joseph Lake, who had moved to Alabama from North Carolina. By coincidence, Julia Tutwiler was actually related to Lake, and she lived in the house from 1881 to 1910 while president of Livingston. That there is a spirit that haunts Lakewood is not much denied. But whether or not it is Julia Tutwiler is less certain. The family who lived in the Lakewood house always described it as a friendly, comforting spirit. More than one visitor, upon noticing an unexplained presence passing by the window—most often it seemed when they were eating (perhaps the spirit is hungry)—would be met with the remark, "No, that's just our ghost." Everyone seems to be in agreement on the form of the spirit: it is seen almost universally as a wisp of white floating by. Is this the ghost of Julia Tutwiler? It's hard to say, although the white ghost is not the only spirit to haunt Lakewood. Some of the others are nowhere near as friendly. One of the children who lived in the house reported a strange encounter when she was visiting from college. She was cleaning up when she had the distinct impression that she was being watched. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a man, dressed in a red, plaid flannel shirt. But when she turned, there was nothing there beyond a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. In fact, Lakewood may well be one of the most haunted places in all of Alabama. One visitor reported waking to the sight of the ghostly figures of a woman and a child standing nearby. Others have experienced playful spirits that turn the lights on and off while they are in the shower. Rocking chairs rock on their own. Cameras take photographs without warning. Strange lights float about the house. Innumerable spiritual orbs have been reported. Who haunts Lakewood? No one knows for sure, but no one doubts that the house has a resident spirit, and perhaps more than one.
