lO Davis's video: Supernatural Incorruptibles

@Supernatural ? “Incorruptibles”
Is it possible that there may be some explanation that goes beyond what modern science knows today? Roman Catholics once believed that some people avoided decomposition after death because of their holiness Those who did were deemed 'incorruptible' and often turned into saints with their bodies displayed in churches.. It takes two miracles to become a saint; the Church once allowed a perfect corpse to count as one. Supposed to be naturally preserved but certain methods such as encasing corpses in silver and wax are accepted. The environment is not necessarily an indicator of whether a body is incorruptible or not. In fact, some incorruptible bodies have been found next to bodies that have decayed normally, indicating the environment did not affect the rate of decay. For readers who are not familiar with the term, “Incorruptibles”, it’s a word that was popularized by a best-selling book of the same name by author, Joan Carroll Cruz, who documented many cases of incorruptibility in her 1977 book. The title of Cruz’s book has since become closely associated with a select group of Catholic mystics whose physical remains were found mysteriously preserved after their deaths; often many years after the holy person died. In St. Bernadette’s case, her incorrupt body was discovered 25 years after she passed away in 1879, during the ritual exhumation related to her Cause for Canonization.The preservation of the Incorruptibles, on the other hand, should not be attributed to deliberate or accidental mummification; they were never embalmed or preserved through any artificial or natural processes, but rather their conservation, the Faithful believe, should be credited to a higher power 😇 Physical Movement – a few Incorruptibles have also manifested movements in their limbs, as in the case of Bl. Margaret of Castello (d. 1320), whose body lifted a hand after a possessed child was brought within its close proximity; the child was immediately freed of the evil spirit. Likewise, the incorrupt body of St. Eustochia Calafato (d. 1485) once turned its face away from a nun in her convent after the sister in question approached the body while in a state of unconfessed sin. Holy shrine: The 'incorrupt' body of Blessed Anna Maria Taigi is displayed in the San Crisogono church in Rome - a closer look shows that wax has been set over her bones to aid in preservation Saint Silvan was a Christian martyr and a saint who lived in the fourth century. Not much is known about this Saint other than he was martyred between 300 A.D - 350 A.D. and his apparently incorrupt body is still on display 17 centuries after his death. It appears that Silvan was very young when he was martyred, showing his devoutness to Christianity from a young age. In his tomb, an embroidered cross on the front of his garment indicating that he may have been a priest or some other cleric possibly indicating that he was a fairly high ranking in his time. The incorrupt body of Saint Silvan is located in the Church of Saint Blaise in Dubrovnik, Croatia. A number of Silvans have been canonized as saints, and it is unclear which Saint Silvan is entombed at the Church of Saint Blaise. Most sources claim the Saint Silvan at Dubrovnik was martyred in the 4th century — a gruesome wound on his neck suggests the manner of his martyrdom — which may indicate he was Saint Silvanus, Bishop of Emesa, Phoenicia, martyred c. 311. Other Saint Silvans died in various ways (e.g., thrown off a cliff or of natural causes) or at an age suggesting they cannot be the Saint Silvan at Dubrovnik. Still others are believed to be buried elsewhere. His body is purported to be totally incorrupt and lies in the Church of St. Blaise at Dubrovnik, Croatia. On his neck the body has a big scar, which is believed to have caused his martyrdom.
