'Thirsty' : A Post-Queer, Musical Film. From bullied girly-boy to Cher Impersonator, the true story of a good soul with a slippery gender. Scott Townsend a.k.a.Thirsty Burlington growing up as a girl-boy in Cambridge public housing who eventually becoming a respected drag queen who impersonates Cher and longs to create the world he wants. The sold out screening and after party at the Woodstock Film Festival on October 14th 2016, was presented at SPAF ( Saugerties Performing Arts Factory) and was followed by a Q&A and musical performance. The film was also at film festivals in London and NYC. Director and writer Margo Pelletier, and Producer Lisa Thomas were on stage for the dialogue with the audience as well as the cast, writers, and crew. Lex Grey and the Top Dogs and Thirsty Burlington performed 70's tunes, as well as some original film music. . Lisa and Margo are very involved with the Upstate women's film movement, and they encourage others to create up in the NY region. Most of the film was shot in the Hudson Valley upstate NY, and utilized the abundant talent in the area.
