It's been two long years of silence on our end, but SubtleSkeptics is officially back. If you'll check our Facebook page under the Info tab, you'll notice some changes regarding how we're going to go about releasing our videos from here on out, most importantly trying to feature a guest artist each month. For this special occasion, we decided to arrange and cover an energetic Kaskade tune off his "Fire and Ice" album. Our version is slightly based off of Le Castle Vania's awesome remix of the song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W30jbYll__I) and our featured artist of the month is, lo and behold, the sultry Karla Sin Liu a.k.a Silas Chow. Karla is one of our B.F.O.A.T (best friends of all time) who also went to UCLA and is now working in the advertising industry as a strategic planner, just as Lander is doing. Her passion and love for all types of music is unquestioned and undoubtedly parallel to ours, so we are very fortunate to have worked with her on this cover. We had loads of fun throughout the entire process. We are also planning on putting more thought and production into our covers to provide you with a higher level of enjoyment. This means we are saying adieu to the days of goofing off and recording covers on a MacBook mic and camera on a whim. For this particular release, Will's older brother Kien Lam, who is a professional photographer, was kind enough to take time off from his busy schedule and shoot/direct a little music video for us. This is our first real foray into the world of videography and video editing, so please excuse us if you feel the video is not as polished as it can be; we are still learning! He's making his mom and pops proud and rides a motorcycle to and from work like the badass that he is. But what about Will? Did he die? Has he gained weight? How many times does he go to the strip club each week? The answers to those questions are no, not really, and twenty seven. Will is currently fully engulfed in the world of music production and is composing music for commercial projects under the name Metaphysika Sounds and he's loving every second of it. He is also working on his personal beats and will be looking to release an EP by summertime under the name Severin Wojtek. Furreals this time.
