traindriver35's video: Olympic Games Javelin Trains Southeastern High Speed St Pancras Stratford Int 8th August 2012

@Olympic Games "Javelin" Trains Southeastern High Speed St Pancras & Stratford Int 8th August 2012
Just a few shots of the Southeastern High speed trains operating the "Javelin" services which saw 12 car trains departing St Pancras every 7 or 8 minutes. Some ran to Ashford, others to Ebbesfleet International. Away from peak times there was plenty of capacity as seen here. Platform 4 at Stratford was built as a Eurostar platform but this service has so far never materialised, and probably never will. The "International" suffix should be dropped or at least changed to "Domestic" or "High-Speed". The would-be Eurostar platforms have been mothballed since the station opened and have been specially raised for use by the Javelin services during the Olympics. In the last shot you can see the original platform surface marked for "Voiture 14" for a Eurostar. If those trains were to serve the station the on board steps would deploy as in continental practice.
