Eleven and Mike - Purest ship on TV. And they growing up so fast. ;__; I started this video sometime between season 1 and 2 and got sidetracked, which is why I’m finishing it now! With season two’s imminent release I just got so excited to edit Stranger Things (before it even premiered) and now I have a Mike x Eleven video to add to my collection. Yay! I fell in love with these two in season one and the tragic ending made it that much more effective! After my first ST video, which had an eerie vibe to go with the show, I wanted to make a video based on how warm and happy this show makes me feel. The focus was meant to be Eleven and Mike, but also the gang as a whole. (The squad. The kids. Any name that works.) And there’s some tidbits in there about Eleven learning what friendship really means. Enough feels for the whole family. Not going to talk about season 2 today. That’s for another video. And yes, I fully plan to make a video for season 2. *fingers crossed* There’s some backstory to the song choice: I first heard this song from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tC9vOa7WvT4 (The video has also been muted but you can play the audio in another window, because the whole song is used from start to finish with no cuts.) This video is very dear to my heart, and I saw it soon after I joined youtube. This video was one of my inspirations as a newbie editor. The editing evoked so much emotion in me. Back then I thought that everyone in my community (the GMV editing community) had seen this video. Now I realize that probably wasn’t true, but it felt true to me lol. I’ve finally gotten an opportunity to use this song! It’s been waiting in my playlist for close to seven years, so I'm pretty happy about that.
