It's quite nice to be up in front of a live audience actually, and eyeballing people because I'm not used to that, and I do like that. I like a performance, I enjoy talking directly to people and seeing their faces. And I really like meeting people. I like meeting people who have a specialism an expertise because the danger is working in the media that you spend a lot of time talking to people who also work in the media or, politicians. People who are media groomed, and it's always, always useful and interesting for me to get out and talk to people from other sectors of life. I think as a host you want to provide the nuts and bolts so, you want to understand what the organiser’s want, their clients to get out of it. You want to understand the people who are there, what they want to out of it, and to be able to mix those two together. So that's about doing a bit of research, asking the right questions, but also it has to be entertaining, and it has to be engaging, and it has to, it has to feel like it's not really happening to you. It's happening with you. If that makes any sense, so that at the end of the day people will say not: 'Oh god, thank god that's over’ but ‘where's the time gone?’ And sometimes that's just about you know, a story or a good question, or moving things on when you sense they need to be moved on. Or drawing the different elements together so it begins to make a bit of sense and, I think if you can come away from an event and people say you know; 'I genuinely learnt something, or I genuinely enjoyed that and I didn't expect to, that was something unexpected then I think your job well.
