Instagram launched a new feature for Reels - REMIX. Now you can remix a reel by recording your own video next to someone else’s, side by side. You’re free to add your own perspective, collaborate with your favorite influencer, and if we might say, “Get a step closer to them.”
Tap on the three dot menu on a reel.
Select ‘Remix this reel’ option.
Now you can record your own video or even upload a pre-recorded one with the existing reel.
You have the option to edit such as control the volume for the original audio or their audio, add a voiceover, and much more.
You can even add your own reaction to the reel and be creative alongside their ideas.
The platform will make Reels that are low quality or recycled for other apps i.e. contains a logo or watermark, less discoverable. This is to limit users from posting recycled videos such as TikTok videos on Reels.
The platform recommends creators to use creative tools like text filters or camera effects and use vertical video as horizontal videos are not typically easy to recreate. It further recommends creators use music that they find on the Instagram music library and or original audio that they create or find on Reels.
New reels from now on will have the option to REMIX, switched on by default. For older reels, you can switch on the option to remix by tapping on the three dot menu and selecting ‘Enable Remixing.’
You can also switch off the REMIX option from your profile.
This feature is expected to have more organic reach and push, a must for every content.
