Empati Seansları empati kavramını genişleten bir film seçkisi. Sanatçıların ve tasarımcıların ürettiği bu filmler, seyircileri yeryüzünden okyanusların derinliklerine kadar farklı bakış açılarını benimsemeye (suyun, kaplumbağanın, hatta bir bakterinin bakış açısı) ve dijital âlemdeki çok sayıda alanı keşfetmeye davet ediyor. 4 Mart’a kadar her perşembe, seçkiden bir film bir hafta süreyle İKSV Youtube kanalında erişime açılıyor. Empati Seansları’nın yedinci bölümünde Paula Gaetano Adi’nin Robo-kıyamet Manifestosu: Özgürlük için tekno-politikalar isimli işi gösteriliyor. Robo-kıyamet Manifestosu: Özgürlük için tekno-politikalar adlı video-makale, hem teknolojinin hem de insanın temel tanımını alaşağı edecek bir robot “genel grevini” desteklemeye yönelik acil bir çağrı, öte yandan insanlığın tanım ölçütü olarak “beyaz adam”ı reddediyor. Bu görsel manifesto, toplumsal hiyerarşileri ve eşitsizliği sürdüren ırksal ve sömürgeci bakışı güçlendiren, modern robot ve yapay zekâ teknolojilerinde uygulanan emperyalizm biçimlerinden vazgeçmenin önemini gösteriyor, bir yandan da emek sömürüsünden devrimci bir kurtuluşu vadeden tekno-liberal projeye arka çıkıyor. Arşiv malzemesini, buluntu malzemelerle, animasyonla, kompozit görüntülerle ve birinci tekil şahıstan konuşan dış sesle harmanlayan film, üç kısma ayrılıyor: (I) Robotlar Grevde: Robo-kıyametler Tekrar Yürürlükte; (II) Araçsallığın Ötesinde Robotlar: İnsanlık Yeniden Fethedildi ve (III) Robotlar Çoğul Evrende: Animizm Yeniden Yüklendi. Bu üç kısmın her biri zamanımızın temel siyasal zorluklarına ve estetik ihtiyaçlarına değiniyor: Makinenin sömürgecilikten kurtulması ve sömürgecilik öncesi yıkıcı olmayan yaşam biçimlerinin ontolojilerini, epistemolojilerini ve teknolojilerini talep edebilen radikal hayal gücü. “Robo-kıyamet Manifestosu: Özgürlük için tekno-politikalar” filminin yaratıcısı Paula Gaetano Adi ve 5. Empathy Sessions: A Robocaliptic Manifesto: techno-politics for liberation Empathy Sessions is a selection of film works that expand the notion of empathy. Created by artists and designers, they invite viewers to take on a diversity of perspectives – that of water, a tortoise, or even bacteria – and explore a multitude of spaces in the digital realm: from inside the earth to the deep ocean. Until 4 March, every Thursday, a film from the selection is made available for a week, through İKSV's Youtube Channel. “A Robocaliptic Manifesto: techno-politics for liberation” by Paula Gaetano Adi is streamed as the seventh episode of the Empathy Sessions. The video essay Robocaliptic Manifesto: techno-politics for liberation is an urgent call to endorse a robot ‘general strike’ that will overthrow the instrumental definition of both technology and humans, while disowning the ‘white man’ as the measure for the definition of humanity. The visual manifesto asserts the importance of unlearning the imperialisms performed by modern robotic and AI technologies that reinforce the racial and colonial logic that maintain social hierarchies and inequality, while upholding the techno-liberal project that promises revolutionary liberation from labour exploitation. Fusing archival and found-footage material, animation, composite imagery and first-person voiceover, the film is divided into three acts: (I) Robots on Strike: Robocalypses Reenacted; (II) Robots Beyond Instrumentality: Humanity Reconquered, and (III) Robots in the Pluriverse: Animism Reloaded. All three acts touch on the central political challenges and aesthetic needs of our time –the decolonisation of the machine and an act of radical imagination that can reclaim pre-colonial ontologies, epistemologies and the technologies of non-destructive modes of life.
