İstanbul Kültür Sanat Vakfı's video: Ele tirel Yemek Program Critical Cooking Show: Pelte Odalar Mush Rooms

Pelte Odaları BUREAU (Daniel Zamarbide) ile Chef Walter El Nagar ile Filipe Felizardo Güncel olmak, biraz da istikrarsızlığı, belirsizliği mesken tutmayı tekrar öğrenmek demek. İlerleme kavramı (ya da kapitalist modernizm) fazlasıyla kırılgan görünürken ve sonunda sorgulanabiliyorken katı kabul edilen ve hakikat addedilen her şey de buharlaşma yolunda. Virüsün küresel çapta yaşattığı kriz, bugüne dek anladığımız hâliyle sabit bir dünyanın uçuculuğunu teyit ediyor. Aynı kriz yeni algılanan paradigmalara karşı politik bir tavır gerektiriyor, belki de onun önemini bize hatırlatıyor. Siyasetin yeni araçlar ve anlayışlarla gündelik hayatımıza pek çok açıdan girmesi gerekiyor. BUREAU bu projeyle birlikte bu konumlanmaya bir eserle katkıda bulunmayı hedefliyor. Proje Donna Haraway'in "Sicim Figürleri" adlı makalesinden ve Bruno Latour'un (Lovelock ve Margulis'in ardından ortaya attığı) "Gaia dünyasından" doğrudan ilham alsa da kendine özgü bir mantığa ve özelliklere sahip bir eser formunu alıyor. Eleştirel Yemek Programı, mutfağı tasarım odaklı düşüncenin ve üretimin merkezi olarak yeniden hayal eden filmler, dersler ve performanslardan oluşan dijital bir video serisi. Bu program, "Empatiye Dönüş: Birden fazlası için tasarım" başlığıyla düzenlenen 5. İstanbul Tasarım Bienali kapsamında gerçekleştiriliyor. Now that the notion of progress (or capitalist modernism) seems to be quite fragile and finally questionable, whatever was a solid given or truth is in its way to evaporation. The viral crisis that the world population is going through confirms the volatility of a stable world as we have understood up to this day. The same crisis has called for, or reminded us the importance of a political attitude towards newly perceived paradigms. Politics needs to enter, through new tools and new understandings in many aspects of our everyday life. BUREAU’s attempt with this project is a small contribution to that positioning through a design piece, a world that’s indirectly inspired by Donna Haraway’s String Figures (and other SF’s) and Bruno Latour’s Gaia world (after Lovelock and Margulis), but will constitute a work on its own, with its own internal logic and character. The Critical Cooking Show is a digital programme of films, lectures and performances that reimagine the kitchen as a space central to design thinking and production, screened as part of the 5th Istanbul Design Biennial – Empathy Revisited: Designs for more than one.
