İstanbul Kültür Sanat Vakfı's video: Ele tirel Yemek Program Critical Cooking Show: Ellerin Uyumu Hands Correspondence

Ellerin Uyumu Asako Iwama, Iris Lacoudre, Camille Sineau Mutfak aletleri, gerektirdikleri jestler ve yarattıkları ilişkiler yoluyla toplumsal, çevresel ve mekânsal koşullar yaratan bir destek yapısı sunuyor. Burada alet sorunu, en arkaik biçimi olan ele indirgeniyor, bedenin bir uzantısı olarak inceleniyor. Böylece asıl amaç yeni bir alet icat etmek değil, en basit, samimi ve ev içindeki biçimiyle yemek yapmanın ve birlikte yemek yemenin elle tutulabilirliğine odaklanmak hâline geliyor. Iwama, Lacoudre ve Sineau, üç farklı kentte, hepsinin kendi mutfaklarından katıldığı ekranda bir sohbet gerçekleştirdi. Normalde eli bir alet olarak vurgulamak adına büyük bir sofra etrafında birlikte yenecek bir yemek hazırlamak fikrinden yola çıkmışlardı. Ama ne olduysa, birbirlerinden bir anda koptular, hareket etmeleri, dokunmaları veya paylaşmaları yasaklandı. Toplu bir buluşma ve performans olarak tasavvur edilen yemek, her birinin evinin mahrem alanına taşındı. Bu gerçekleşmeyen akşam yemeği, gündelik yemek pişirme jestlerimizin aslında mutfaklarımızın sınırlarının ötesinde de aynı olduğunu açığa çıkardı. Eleştirel Yemek Programı, mutfağı tasarım odaklı düşüncenin ve üretimin merkezi olarak yeniden hayal eden filmler, dersler ve performanslardan oluşan dijital bir video serisi. Bu program, "Empatiye Dönüş: Birden fazlası için tasarım" başlığıyla düzenlenen 5. İstanbul Tasarım Bienali kapsamında gerçekleştiriliyor. *Bu filmdeki bazı sahneler bazı izleyicilerimizi rahatsız edebilir. // Hands Correspondence Asako Iwama, Iris Lacoudre, Camille Sineau Kitchen tools offer a support structure that generates social, environmental and spatial situations, due to the gestures they involve and relations they create. Here, the question of the tool is reduced to its most archaic form, the hand, and by extension the body. In that sense, the proposal is not to invent a new tool, but rather to focus on the tactility of food making and sharing, in its most simple, intimate and domestic form. The conversation between Iwama, Lacoudre and Sineau unfolded in their separate kitchens, in front of screens, in three different cities. The idea had been to prepare a shared meal, around a large “sofra”, as a way to celebrate the hand as a tool. But suddenly, they were cut off from one another, prohibited from moving, touching or sharing. What should have been a public gathering and performance moved to the intimate sphere of their respective apartments. The very absence of that dinner revealed that everyday cooking gestures are shared across borders, beyond the confines of our kitchens. The Critical Cooking Show is a digital programme of films, lectures and performances that reimagine the kitchen as a space central to design thinking and production, screened as part of the 5th Istanbul Design Biennial – Empathy Revisited: Designs for more than one. *This video contains footage some viewers may find distressing.
