@Clean your running shoes properly.

This is how you clean your CLOTH type shoes by Nike. I personally do not recommend you submerge the shoes underwater for long periods for it can destroy them over time. ALSO, do not toss them in the washing machine because the chemicals in the soap may cause the factory adhesive gluing to become damaged. As a professional cobbler I have done this many of times.
