This is about to get real people... I'm so sick of seeing girls (and guys!) jumping on a trend of lip injections only to have terrible results by shitty, money hungry doctors. I got my first injections when I was 22 in Chicago "for fun" and didn't have a good experience. At that time I got cosmoplast which was an injectable gel and it lasted all of 2 months before disappearing. I did like the look but waited several years to do it again. I then tried juvederm a few years ago at Premier Dermatology in St. Louis and fell in LOVE. I did a ton of research before and was recommended to go see Dr. Jeffrey Reed from a makeup client. I just received my third juvederm injection from him and decided to film it with his consent. My last juvederm lasted over a year and a half and would have lasted longer but I was home and wanted to go ahead and get it now, so he only used half a syringe otherwise it would look fake and stupid. Botox: I use the best skincare in the world and I'm super happy with my skin. I started getting botox 1-2 times a year 2 years ago as a preventative measure and only in 2 spots on my forehead (now 3 spots). This is not a replacement for a good skincare routine. Botox immobilizes the muscles that contract and cause wrinkles. I'm almost 30 and don't have any YET and that isn't due to botox in 2 places, it's due to good skincare, a healthy diet of antioxidants and sunscreen! Invest in the best! Here is what you should know since no one seems to want to talk about the real facts: -COST- Botox ranges from 10-20 a unit but $12 is what I pay. I usually only get 6 units which is laughably low (most people get 60+ units), but went for 8 units this time (2 under the brow). Juvederm ranges from $500-550 for one syringe. Of course there are groupons and living social's for this but do you REALLY want to get discount injections in your FACE? You get what you pay for. I paid $500 this time since I got botox with it. My doctor only used half of the syringe so he saves it up to a year so I can come back and get the rest. I did not get any of these services for free (I WISH) and am only promoting my doctor because he is seriously amazing and tells you NO. If you live in the St. Louis or midwest area (or LA!)
