The Relay for Life is an annual fundraising event held by various groups across Canada to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. The premise of the event is an overnight relay to celebrate cancer survivors, to remember and honour loved ones lost to cancer, and to fight back against all cancers through fundraising for research and treatment. Until it lands on the wrong side. It's the side that nobody sees coming; The one that changes everything to black and white. Life gets harder, and life seems shorter; But the family grows fonder and the love grows stronger. On this night, we celebrate; those whom have fought, and changed their fate; We fight together to find the cure that awaits; And we remember those whom have fallen - dad; mom; friend; soulmate. These faces; you will never see; Whether black or white, no matter ID; On this night, whether we walk or run; we relay as one.
