Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks (75), who drew the head of the Prophet Muhammad on the body of a dog, died in a car accident, local media reports. Wilks was reportedly traveling in a civilian police vehicle that collided with a truck near the southern Swedish town of Markaryda. Two policemen traveling with him as bodyguards, were also killed and the driver of the truck was injured, reports the BBC. He lived under police protection after being exposed to death threats over cartoons of prophet Mohammed.
