@ESPN’s Michael Rothstein: Talks Detroit Lions Offseason Priorities
If the Detroit Lions ever plan on escaping the drab shadows of being viewed as lacking brightness or interest; drearily dull, they must develop consistent habits on the field a quality they've been devoid of for decades. Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia are the latest tandem whose been charged with resurrecting Detroit’s fortunes and discovering a method of restoring respected credibility. However, to be considered upper echelon in today’s NFL, a parity metropolis you must also have a clear vision and plan of attack for success or you'll be left in the dust, when your ultimate day of reckoning finally comes. Quinn says the Lions coaching staff is eager to dive in and is hard at work to fix what ails the team. Becoming the fact or condition of being regarded or treated as more important occurs only one way in the NFL and its by winning, again a concept Detroit has failed to grasp long before the turn of the next century. The Lions have reached yet another crossroads and its time to pick a direction. Aspire for and want more or wallow in mediocrity. If you were a betting man, you’d probably take the fifth in attempting to convince yourself the Lions are capable of more. However, Quinn believes in the fundamental character of the foundation heès established in the Motor City. Even with some growing increasingly impatient with the very notion of patience itself and want tangible proof of a winning formula every weekend. Matthew Stafford is certainly a lightning rod everywhere you go. A decade entrenched into his Lions tenure the results have been mixed to say the least. Stafford is by far the best quarterback Detroit has had in almost a decade but yet the on-the-field return hasn’t resulted to elite status. As the Lions enter a critical offseason its time for all of their brass to earn their collective paychecks and place a winning product on the field. Michael Rothstein covers the Lions for ESPN and he joined 2Man Advantage Podcasts Kevin McShan this week as he dishes on everything Lions.
